Colleen had invited me to ride with her Yelp crew in the parade this year. They were supposed to make a float, but apparently that's a pain in the ass, so they rented a double decker bus. I didn't see much of the parade, but I did get a good view of the spectators.

Here Samanatha and I are testing out some of the SWEET new equipment for the new Fauxtobooth™ 2.0. Unfortunately the live view didn't work with this software like I wanted it to, but the view mode will be fine and I think it will greatly improve our results.

Someone asked me not so long ago for advice on what sort of equipment a wedding photographer needed... just the very basics. Basics are of course relative, but here is what I consider essential, plus a few extras. In answer to the brand question: I shoot Nikon, but I am not a fanatic about brands. The only thing I'd say about brands is the simple fact of the matter is if you are a pro event photographer there is a pretty good chance you will either be shooting Nikon or Canon. Either one will work, I think it's mostly a matter of ergonomics. There is a lot more stuff you can use to shoot weddings besides what I've mentioned, and this is really just my current opinion here... my needs and outlooks change with my experience as well so who knows what tune I will be singing next year.

To me this was the most interesting part of the City Museum, especially from a visual standpoint. This part was just kind of amazing... it was a total post apocalyptic looking structure in the middle of the building, super dark at the bottom with the sky exposure at the top. Kind of difficult to photograph with the extreme contrast in lighting.
